Award winning office renovation by Walker and Pride Architects for Murray Donald Drummond and Cook

This project is an example of growth and change within the traditional streetscape of St. Andrews.  Modern commercial premises have been created by the imaginative refurbishment of two existing shops, respecting and enhancing the frontages while completely remodelling the interior.

This was a challenging project due to the complexity of the interior alterations.  The interior has been completely transformed including the creation of an open plan office in the back area previously used as a Store.
RB Grant installed the new lighting , data and power to the specific design . The use of modern LED and neon lighting for asthetic purposes enhanced the look and feel of the office . Emergency lighting , security and fire alarms installed to meet current electrical and safety at work act compliance .

The shop premises at 19-21 Bell Street were originally built as two separate shops.  No. 21 has a central doorway and a bow frontage on either side with delicate patterned astragals.  The adjacent shop at No. 19 was smaller with a door to the right and a plain window to the left.  The premises were previously occupied by Oxfam who have relocated their business elsewhere in St. Andrews and the solicitors Murray Donald Drummond Cook LLP have taken the opportunity to bring all their property staff together in one location for the first time.

A new LED and energy efficient lighting installation with additonal power , data , emergency lighting ,voice and audio visual for the British Golf Museum , St Andrews in Fife. The museum sets itself another ambitious target - to significantly improve its energy efficiency. With this in mind, part of the recent refurbishment entailed an upgrade to the air ventilation system, which will effectively reduce the heating consumption. RB Grant's electricians removed the existing lighting has replaced with low energy L.E.D. bulbs to minimise electricity usage. To improve the aesthetics of the galleries, a new lighter ceiling layout has been installed. A complete rewire of the lighting and data in low smoke zero halogen cabling to meet the current standards .

Installation of emergency lighting for St Rules tower , St Andrews , Fife . The 108 feet tower required the installation of emergency lighting . This challenging installation was required to light the spiral stairway and allow an emergency back up facility incase of power loss . RB Grant Electrical Contractors worked closely with Historic Scotland masons to supply and install a system whilst retaining the look of the historic 12th centuary tower .

St. Rule's Tower, sometimes referred to as the Square Tower (108 feet high), affords a wonderful panoramic view over the town and harbour and to the surrounding countryside. Access to the tower requires an entrance token which can be obtained at the cathedral visitor centre. The climb to the top of the tower is via a rather narrow and steep spiral staircase (151 steps) on which it is difficult to pass those headed in the opposite direction. Be particularly careful on the descent, as spiral staircases have very little step room especially near the center. For those who are careful, and reasonably fit, the view is well worth the effort.
